Tokyo Station, Marunouchi Travel Guides

Tokyo Station and Marunouchi are home to tourist attractions such as Tokyo Station, Yasukuni Shrine, and the National Diet Library; tourist events such as the Imperial Palace General Visit, Sanno Festival, and Yasukuni Shrine Spring Festival; and local delicacies such as sukiyaki, motsunabe, and soba noodles.

The Imperial Palace is an indispensable area for sightseeing around Tokyo Station. Just a short walk around the Imperial Palace will take you to various sightseeing spots, including the various government ministries, Tokyo Tower, the Diet Building, and the Supreme Court.

The greenery overflowing inside the Imperial Palace is also refreshing. Marunouchi, located between the outer gardens of the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station, is an office district lined with banks and corporate buildings. The area is therefore filled with businessmen during the daytime on weekdays, but is quiet at night.

Marunouchi Naka-dori Avenue is home to luxury brand stores and eateries, and the Marunouchi Shuttle shuttles passengers around Otemachi, Marunouchi, and Yurakucho for free.

The Tokyo Station area offers a variety of restaurants, including Japanese, Italian, and French. Diners can enjoy their meals while gazing at the Imperial Palace or the office district. The office district of Marunouchi offers a wide variety of lunch options, from reasonably priced ramen shops to buffet lunches and café restaurants with a relaxed atmosphere.

Kitanomaru Park is located where Kitanomaru of Edo Castle once stood. The park is filled with greenery, making it a soothing urban oasis. Cherry and plum trees are planted and are in full bloom during the season. The park has well-maintained paths, so people can be seen jogging or walking around the park.

Chidorigafuchi is a moat around the Imperial Palace and is known for its cherry blossoms, which are illuminated at night so that visitors can enjoy viewing them at night. Chidorigafuchi also has a boat ramp, so you can enjoy a leisurely boat ride.

KITTE, a commercial facility that opened at the Marunouchi South Exit of Tokyo Station, has a variety of stores from the first basement floor to the sixth floor, selling food, fashion items, and household goods. Each floor has its own theme, such as "Connecting, Connecting Floor" and "Fusion of Old and New Sensibilities Floor.

The fifth floor is a restaurant floor, where you can enjoy a variety of regional cuisines from all over Japan without having to leave Tokyo.
