Sumida Aquarium

The aquarium is located in Tokyo Solamachi in Tokyo Skytree Town.
The aquarium exhibits 7,000 marine creatures of about 260 species in eight zones.
It is open until 9:00 p.m., so visitors can stop by at the end of their sightseeing tour.

Jellyfish
About 700 jellyfish of 14 species born and raised in the SUMIDA AQUARIUM, including red jellyfish and octopus jellyfish, are on display.
In the “Big Petri dish,” a huge water basin-type tank with a diameter of 7 meters, visitors can view approximately 500 water jellyfish directly from above, rather than through acrylic.

In the “Laboratory,” visitors can observe jellyfish breeding facilities, their growth process to adulthood, and their reproductive activities. The “Kaleidoscope Tunnel” (a 50-meter-long slope with approximately 5,000 mirrors on the walls and ceiling) features jellyfish-themed images, lighting, music, and aromas.

Ogasawara Aquarium
The Ogasawara Aquarium, with a depth of 6 meters and a water volume of 300 tons, connects the floors of the atrium and reproduces the seas of the Ogasawara Islands, a World Natural Heritage site.

About 50 species and 450 colorful fish swim around in the tank, including sharks over two meters in length, white crocodiles, Japanese eagle rays, southern bluefin turtles, and spiny dogfish.

Penguins
With a water volume of 350 tons, this indoor open-air penguin pool, one of the largest in Japan, is a two-story atrium space where penguins can be seen waddling on land and swimming smartly in the water.

Edoarium
The “Edoarium,” a goldfish exhibition zone with an Edo-style theme, exhibits 23 varieties of goldfish that have been loved since the Edo period.
